Davenport Financial Management Ltd is an independent financial planning consultancy based in Godalming, Surrey.

Davenport was established in 2005 by Malcolm Wanless and Ian Taylor, who have a combined wealth of experience in financial planning for individuals and companies. They saw the significant flaws in the traditional product based ‘one size fits all’ financial planning process and were keen to establish a new type of professional firm. With the aim of providing the best possible advice for clients, they brought together a team of financial planners with specific specialist expertise to provide a high quality service and innovative solutions specific to each client’s needs.

In order to provide the complete neutrality which allows Davenport advisers to offer the best financial strategies available, Davenport has moved away from the traditional commission based model, with its inbuilt conflict of interest, to a fee based structure. Where commission does arise it is offset against our fees, thus reducing or eliminating the amount of our invoice.

This means that our clients are assured of complete objectivity and professionalism in the advice provided and allows trust and long term client/adviser relationships to develop.

While every client will have an ongoing relationship with one of our financial planners, alongside them is a team of consultants, each specialising in their own particular area of personal finance. Their experience and expertise will be brought into your financial planning as and when the need arises.

Our primary role is to demystify financial services and help you to construct a financial plan which will ensure that your long term goals and aspirations can become reality.
